Innovation is the lifeblood of progress, and occasionally, a breakthrough solution emerges that promises to revolutionise an entire industry. This sentiment rang especially true at this year’s Innovation Zero awards, where pioneers and visionaries congregated to celebrate the spirit of innovation and celebrate those leading the charge towards a brighter, greener future.
Among the standout achievements of the event was Nuada’s triumph in the highly competitive “Industry” category. Nuada secured the title of the most promising solution to decarbonise industry, capturing the attention of both innovators and investors alike.
The Innovation Zero awards serve as a beacon for the most ground-breaking ideas and solutions across various industries, bridging the gap between climate and technology. From energy and power to land and water, the conference showcased a diverse array of innovations that have the potential to reshape the world as we know it. However, it was our innovative approach to tackling decarbonisation within the hard-to-abate industrial landscape that caught the attention of many.
By leveraging bespoke MOF filters with mature Vacuum Pressure Swing (VPSA) technology, Nuada has developed a solution that optimises energy efficiency, slashing the energy penalty for carbon capture by up to 80%, drastically reducing the cost of capture and moreover, opening the doors for the widespread deployment of carbon capture. The high energy penalty of existing solutions poses a significant cost barrier and jeopardises the economic viability of CCUS projects, given that carbon capture constitutes the largest cost element in the CCUS chain. Nuada is scaling up our ultra-energy efficient technology which overcomes the energy, cost, and integrational challenges of incumbent solutions to make carbon capture more accessible for industries such as cement, lime, steel, and waste-to-energy.
The recognition of Nuada’s achievements at the Innovation Zero awards underscores the significance of innovation in tackling the world’s carbon emissions. The insights gained from keynote speeches, panel discussions, and networking sessions at the Innovation Zero conference further reinforced our commitment to driving carbon capture forward.
